State Patrol: Woman, 49, Killed In Steele County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 49-year-old woman was killed Monday in a head-on collision with a semi-truck in southern Minnesota, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 12:05 p.m. Monday on Interstate 35 at mile marker 36 in Steele County near Owatonna. When authorities arrived, a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue was traveling southbound on I-35 when it collided head-on with a semi-truck also headed southbound.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, a 49-year-old woman from Hartland, was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Patrol identified the victim as Joell K. Quiram. Authorities said the driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Steele County Sheriff's Office and Owatonna Fire Department.
