State Patrol: Bicyclist Hit, Killed On I-94 In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A bicyclist is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis early Sunday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 3:05 a.m. on southbound I-94 near West Broadway. According to the State Patrol's incident report, a Nissan A2S was heading southbound on I-94 in the right lane when it hit a bicyclist that was riding in the traffic lane.

Two people were in the vehicle when it hit the bicyclist. The State Patrol said a 25-year-old Richfield woman was driving the vehicle and a 23-year-old Minneapolis man was the passenger. Alcohol was detected on both at the crash scene, according to the incident report.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The bicyclist has not been identified.

The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
