MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two women are dead and four others are injured after a head-on crash Friday night on Interstate 494 near the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a Chevrolet Malibu was going the wrong way in the westbound lanes of I-494 when it hit a Jeep head-on at Highway 5 at about 8:25 p.m.

The driver of the Malibu, 34-year-old Patrick Hayes from Savage, suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was the car's lone passenger.

The driver of the Jeep, 51-year-old Dawn Chiodo, and passenger Dylan Bailey, 24, were both killed. The Jeep's other passengers -- 50-year-old Jennifer Nord, 18-year-old Olivia Nord and 2-year-old Payton Bailey -- all suffered serious injuries. The Nords are both in critical condition, but Bailey's condition has not been released.

Airport Police, Bloomington Police and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. The state patrol is investigating.
