3 Hurt In St. Paul Shooting; Police Searching For Suspect
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- St. Paul Police are investigating a shooting a that injured three people Saturday night.
"Officers received a report that someone was trying to run people over in a car," St. Paul Police public information officer Steve Linders said. "When they arrived, the driver of that vehicle was gone, but they found three adults suffering from gunshot wounds."
The Ramsey County watch commander said the victims are two women and one man. They also said an officer had to apply a tourniquet to stop the bleeding on one of the victims.
The watch commander said that one of the victims fired back at the shooter, and there is at least one suspect on the loose.
The incident marks the end of a deadly week in St. Paul. There were three homicides in seven days.
A man was shot and killed on Aug. 12 in the Eastview neighborhood and another man was shot and killed on Thursday in the Phalen Village area.
The most recent homicide was discovered Saturday when a woman's body was found at a home on Payne Avenue. The woman's husband is a suspect in the case.
"Preventing gun violence is our top priority there is no question about it," Linders said.
The three victims injured in Saturday's shooting were taken to a nearby hospital and have non-life threatening injuries. Anyone with information on the shooting should call St. Paul police.
