St. Paul Celebrates 'Rondo Days'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Rondo Days, one of the largest African American festivals in the Twin Cities, takes place Saturday in St. Paul.
Rondo Avenue, considered the "main street" of the vibrant African American community in St. Paul, was torn up in the 1960s to make way for Interstate 94.
The festival is centered at the Rondo Education Center and Field at 560 Concordia Ave.
The Rondo Days 5K and the Grand Parade took place Saturday morning. Music and dance performances -- including an 11-year-old Michael Jackson impersonator – will run through the evening.
