Motorcyclist Launched Through Minivan In St. Cloud Crash Dies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A motorcyclist was launched into one window of a minivan and out the other side in a St. Cloud crash Wednesday evening and later died from his injuries, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say the crash happened at about 6:46 p.m. the intersection of County Road 75 and Oak Ridge Lane. Investigators say witnesses saw the motorcycle heading south on CR 75 when it collided with the van turning right from Oak Ridge Lane to northbound CR 75.

Police say the motorcyclist -- a 20-year-old man from Sartell -- flew off the motorcycle, launched through the driver's-side rear window of the van and out the passenger side window. Police say witnesses estimated the motorcyclist's speed at 75 to 80 mph.

Authorities say the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at St. Cloud Hospital at about 10 p.m. He was identified by authorities as Taylor Richard Anderson. The driver of the minivan -- a 71-year-old man from St. Cloud -- didn't sustain any apparent injuries in the crash.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating.
