St. Anthony Police Release Data On Arrests, Citations, Warnings This Year

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On Tuesday evening, the city of St. Anthony released statistics for warnings, citations and arrests in the cities the department polices.

The demographic makeup in those cities is 79 percent white and 6 percent black.

Since the beginning of the year, 997 arrests were made. Roughly 47 percent were black and 46 percent were white.

Police issued 967 citations. About 15 percent were issued to black people and 61 percent to white people.

There were a total of 209 warnings given -- 16-percent were to black people and 67-percent to whites.

What's not listed in the numbers is why police contact was initiated in any of these cases. It's also important to note the numbers represent all arrests, citations and warnings since the beginning of the year -- not just traffic stops.
