St. Anthony Man, Whose Son Was Killed By Police, Is Missing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — St. Anthony Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing man whose son was shot and killed by Orono Police last November after he allegedly killed a physician.

Police say Todd Hoffstrom, 56, was last seen at his St. Anthony home early Monday morning.

Hoffstrom's family says he struggled with alcohol dependency in the past, and has been battling depression that worsened after the shooting death of his son last year.

He has turned off his cellphone and did not have much money with him, according to his family. Police say there has been no activity on his credit cards since Monday.

Hoffstrom is described as a white man standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing between 175 and 205 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair.

Police and his family believe he is driving a black 2005 GMC Envoy with Minnesota license plate number 950-JCA.

Anyone who has had contact with Hoffstrom since Monday is urged to call either 911, St. Anthony Police at 612-782-3350 or the Hennepin County Dispatch at 763-525-6220.
