Sports Authority To Open Downtown Location At Mpls. City Center
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Sports Authority Inc. is coming to downtown Minneapolis.
Shorenstein Properties LLC announced Tuesday that the athletic company signed a lease for a 21,877 square foot space at the Minneapolis City Center along Nicollet Avenue.
"We're excited to bring our passion for sports and our unparalleled selection of sporting goods and apparel to the Minneapolis City Center, and we look forward to being part of the vibrant retail and lifestyle atmosphere in downtown," Michael Foss, Chief Executive Officer of Sports Authority, said in a recent press release.
Sports Authority currently has 10 locations in Minneapolis but none are located downtown.
According to the press release, the store will be located on the ground level at Nicollet Mall and 7th Street.
The Minneapolis City Center also recently announced that Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th would be opening in April of 2016.
Sports Authority Inc. is expected to open in fall of 2015.
