Six Displaced In North Minneapolis House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a family of six has been displaced after a house fire in north Minneapolis Sunday morning.

Crews were called to the 2800 block of Oliver Avenue North on a report of a fire. When firefighters arrived, there was an active fire in the basement of a one-story house. Fire crews were able to knock the blaze down quickly, and all occupants escaped the house without injury.

Authorities say two adults, four children and two dogs were inside the home at the time of the fire. Authorities say one cat died in the fire. The American Red Cross is providing the family with assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
