1 shot at YMCA in Coon Rapids
COON RAPIDS, Minn. — Police are now saying a 16-year-old was shot at the YMCA in Coon Rapids.
Police were dispatched to 8950 Springbrook Dr. NW, the YMCA in Coon Rapids, at approximately 7:58 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of gunshots heard.
Police arrived on the scene and tended to find a 16-year-old male struck by gunfire. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive his injuries. Police do not believe the shooting was random.
The YMCA went into lockdown, and to help with the investigation, will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. Regular scheduling will resume on Monday.
CRPD received reports of gunshots heard at the YMCA at 7:58 pm. One person struck by gunfire being treated at hospital.

Detectives from the Coon Rapids Police Department along with Anoka County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit are currently investigating the crime scene.
