1 Dead, 1 Injured In Shooting, Car Crash In N. Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a shooting and car crash in north Minneapolis early Thursday morning.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, just before 2 a.m. officers received a call of a dispute between two groups of people in two different cars.

One of the cars began chasing the other as they drove eastbound on 53rd Avenue North. During the chase, shots were fired.

Just before reaching the intersection of Logan Avenue, both of the cars crashed.

Some of the people fled on foot before officers arrived.

Upon arrival, officers found one female passenger who suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. She was transported to North Memorial Medical Center. She is expected to be okay.

According to Hennepin County, one male died on the scene.

No one is in custody and the identities of the male and female have not been released.

The incident is currently under investigation.
