Sheriff: Teen Caught With Stolen Gun Near Delano Library
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 17-year-old male was arrested Saturday after being found with a stolen gun near the Delano library, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Office. Authorities say the male could be connected to a series of recent home burglaries.
Authorities received a report at about 11:45 a.m. of a suspicious person near the Delano library. When officers arrived, they spoke with the male and he initially gave them a false name. Officers verified his identity as a teen from New Prague. An investigation showed he had a warrant for his arrest out of Scott County.
Officers took him into custody and found a stolen handgun in his bag. He was taken to the Wright County Jail.
Authorities said they are investigating the case to see if it's connected to a string of home burglaries in Delano over the past several weeks.
