Sheriff: Man, 20, Dies In Beltrami County Rollover Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 20-year-old man died Sunday in a rollover crash near Bemidji after the crash was spotted by a newspaper delivery driver, according to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded to the crash at about 6:15 a.m. Sunday on the 4500 block of Birchmont Drive NE in Northern Township, which is just north of Bemidji. An alert delivery driver for the Pioneer News called 911 after seeing the crash.
When officers arrived, a silver 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse was overturned and covered by pine tree and shrubbery. Personnel with the Bemdji Fire and Ambulance located a a 20-year-old man inside the vehicle, the lone occupant. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said what led up to the crash is under investigation, and the victim's name has not been released pending an autopsy.
