Sheriff: Fifth Grader Arrested After Writing Threatening Message

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Chisago County say a fifth grader was arrested Wednesday after an investigation showed he or she wrote a threatening message on the wall of the school's time out room.

The county sheriff's office said the message was written a week ago at the Jacobson Elementary School in Rush City.

A deputy immediately arrested the student and brought the suspect to the East Central Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

The case has been turned over to the county attorney's office pending formal charges.
