Sheriff: 47-Year-Old Brainerd Man Killed In Crow Wing County Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash in the city of Merrifield, Minnesota Wednesday afternoon.
The sheriff's office says the crash occurred at 4:47 p.m. between a passenger car and pickup truck at the junction of County Road 3 and County Road 19. Both vehicles came to rest in a nearby ditch.
The driver of the car, identified as 47-year-old Troy Sabyan of Brainerd, was killed in the crash.
The truck driver, 60-year-old Nett Olstad of Crosslake, was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
According to a preliminary investigation, Sabyan was traveling west on County Road 19 and entered the intersection when his vehicle was struck on the driver's side by Olstad's truck, which was traveling north on County Road 3.
There were no other individuals involved.
The crash investigation is ongoing.
