Sheriff: 2 Arrested After Man Held At Gunpoint In Chisholm
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two men were arrested Saturday after a 21-year-old man was held at gunpoint against his will and demanded money for his release, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded to the incident at about 8:28 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of 6th Street SW in Chisholm. The Chisholm Police Department was responding to a report of unknown trouble when they learned that a man was being held at gunpoint against his will.
Officers were eventually able to safely secure the victim, and four people were detained at the property.
An investigation showed at about 11 p.m. Friday, the victim was taken out of a vehicle at gunpoint near the intersection of Highway 7 and Iron Junction Road by a man wearing a Halloween mask. The victim was taken a short distance before the suspect fired one gunshot to threaten the victim.
Authorities say the victim was eventually taken to the Chisholm residence, where phone calls were made in an attempt to secure his release for an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects were identified as 21-year-old Anthony Joseph Lokken of Chisholm and 28-year-old Kyle Martin Olson of Eveleth.
Lokken and Olson were both booked into the St. Louis County jail for kidnapping and second-degree assault. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities say more arrests and charges are expected.
