Shake Shack Opens At Mall Of America
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It is a beloved burger chain on the East Coast, and now it is coming to Minnesota.
The first Minnesota Shake Shack opens at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mall of America.
Shake Shack started in New York City 12 years ago, founded by one of the nation's premier fine dining chefs Danny Meyer.
After a billion-dollars-plus was invested in the company's Initial Public Offering, they've been expanding across the country. Now, they have four stores in the Midwest.
Their signature shackburger is a classic diner-style burger, made with beef from Olivia, Minn.
"There are many great burgers. We're just happy to introduce another choice that we're really proud of to Minnesota, a state that we think really cares about great quality," Midwest Director for Shake Shack, Matt Meyer, said.
They've got hot dog sand chicken sandwiches, too.
The new store is in the new North End food court. It's on the third floor by the JW Marriott Hotel, where Bloomingdales used to be.
