Twins Offer Ticket Trade-In Over Rain Delay

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Die-hard Twins fans stuck it out at Tuesday night's game during the longest rain delay in franchise history. The rest have been offered a trade-in deal.

This came after the smallest reported crowd in Target Field history, checking in at just under 17,000 people.

The game against the Oakland A's didn't start until almost 10 p.m., more than two and a half hours after the rain kicked up.

The team put on a show for the couple hundred fans who stayed, with lots of home runs and great defensive plays. The Twins eventually came out on top, winning against Oakland 11-4.

If you had a ticket to last night's game, you can use it to get into another game this season, even if you stuck around.

"The Minnesota Twins are grateful for our fans patience with tonight's weather delay," Twins president Dave St. Peter said. "Understanding the lengthy delay and late-night first pitch, we feel it's appropriate to invite all fans holding tickets for tonight's game to come back for a future ballgame compliments of the Twins."

The tickets can be exchanged at the Target Field ticket office on Target Plaza, and can be used for any seat of equal or lesser value.
