MnDOT Reopens Roads In Southern Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Some roads in southern Minnesota closed due to Tuesday's blizzard-like conditions have reopened Wednesday morning.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation said Interstate 90 west of Interstate 35 at Albert Lea reopened at 9 a.m. The interstate was shut down Tuesday due to snow and high winds.
MnDOT and State Patrol are still advising drivers to be cautious and avoid driving if possible, and a number of highways remain covered with snow and ice.
MnDOT said 102 snowplows are on the highways throughout the southeast working to clear the roads. Plows are expected to work throughout Wednesday night.
