'Serial Stowaway' Arrested Twice In 10 Days

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The "serial stowaway" who reportedly flew from Minneapolis to Florida earlier this year without a ticket has been busted again.

Marilyn Hartman, 63, was recently arrested twice in Chicago over a span of 10 days.

According to CBS Chicago, police said she tried to sneak past security to get on a plane at O'Hare International Airport on April 24. After being arrested and charged with trespassing, she was released following a court appearance.

But a few days later, on May 3, Hartman found herself in police custody again after being arrested for loitering at a security checkpoint at Midway International Airport.

Hartman, who is homeless but lived in Chicago for a time, has been arrested close to a dozen times for illegally -trying to board flights. Last year, she was arrested at least six times and served some jail time in California.

Back in February, she allegedly flew from the Twin Cities to Jacksonville, Florida, without a buying a ticket. She then checked into a hotel using another guest's name. She was charged with fraud and trespassing.

"It was clearly wrong on my part," she told police then. "I certainly don't want to do it again, because…I certainly don't want to do any jail time."

Hartman was slated to appear in a Chicago court on Wednesday.
