Sen. Reinert Of Duluth Says He Won't Run Again

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — State Sen. Roger Reinert has announced he won't run for re-election.

The Duluth DFLer said in a statement Sunday that after serving more than a decade in public office, he's ready for the next chapter in his life.

Reinert says 2015 was a busy year for him. He finished his first year of law school, was promoted to lieutenant commander in the Navy Reserve and got married.

Reinert joined the Duluth City Council in 2004 and served twice as council president. He also served one term in the Minnesota House and is finishing his second term in the Minnesota Senate.

As a senator, Reinert served on the Taxes, Transportation and Public Safety, and Commerce committees.
