Search Suspended For Missing Minnesota Marine, 11 Others

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say the search for a Minnesota Marine and his 11 crewmates has ended.

The Coast Guard is suspending its search for Sergeant Dillon Semolina of Delano and the other marines missing since two helicopters collided off the coast of Oahu in Hawaii on Friday. They're now calling it a recovery and salvage operation.

All four of the helicopters' life rafts have been found, but there have been no signs of survivors. A civilian reported seeing an explosion during the nighttime training mission.

The Marines said tonight a memorial service is being planned for Friday.
