Saint Grand Makes First Donation Of Holiday Season

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – With Thanksgiving in our rear-view mirror, we've entered the holiday season and with it comes a drive to give to charity.

For the fourth straight year, anonymous donor "Saint Grand" made their first donation of the season over the weekend. Officials with the Salvation Army said someone made an anonymous donation of $10,000 in cash into a single red kettle at the Lund's in Bloomington on Saturday.

Last year, Saint Grand made 16 different donations of $1,000 to Salvation Army kettles across Minnesota from Willmar to Arden Hills. It kicks off the holiday giving season at a key time. The Salvation Army has set a Christmas goal of $11.5 million in donations, which is up from $10.8 million last year.
