Roseville Woman Dies In Dakota County Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 39-year-old woman died Monday after suffering injuries from a two-car crash in Dakota County.
The Dakota County Sheriff's Office said deputies were sent around 7:54 p.m. on Jan. 31 to the area of 160th Street and Barbara Avenue on a report of a crash.
Upon arrival, officers found two vehicles, including a Chevrolet Impala that had gone off the road and was resting in a ditch.
Inside the Impala, a woman was found, belted in, but unconscious and without a pulse.
There were three people inside the other vehicle, a GMC Envoy -- all were found conscious, breathing and suffering minor injuries.
Authorities say early investigation showed the Impala was traveling west on 160th Street when the vehicle abruptly crossed the center line, directly in front of the Envoy. The Envoy then struck the Impala on the passenger side rear, causing the vehicle to spin out of control and into the ditch.
The driver and one passenger from the Envoy were taken to Regions Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Impala was also taken to Regions in critical condition. Police say she was later stabilized and placed on life support.
She has been identified as Susanne Elizabeth Preda, of Roseville. Preda's family made the decision on Monday to take her off life support. She was pronounced dead just before midnight.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy.
The crash remains under investigation.
