Richfield Officer Won't Face Charges For Alleged Assault On Teen
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Richfield police officer will not face criminal charges after he was accused of assaulting a teenager in October.
Kamal Gelle, 19, said he was pulled over by an officer on the night of Oct. 3 and cited for careless driving.
Gelle says he stepped out of his vehicle during the stop to make a phone call, and the officer pushed, hit and threatened him.

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says they will not charge the officer with making a terroristic threat, which is a felony, because the case did not meet the requirements.
The officer will also not be charged by the county for the physical altercation because it would constitute a misdemeanor or gross misdemeanor, which would fall under the jurisdiction of Richfield's city attorney.
