Report: Minnesota Jobless Rate Remains At 4 Percent, 1,900 Jobs Added
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- State officials are reporting a rise in employment numbers over the last two months after initial reports of jobs lost were flipped to gains in August.
Steve Hine is the Research Director at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.
"Minnesota's employers added a net 1,900 workers to their payrolls in September," he said. "On top of that, the released loss of 1,500 jobs in August was revised away and turned into a 500 job gain."
Hines says September marked an important milestone for the state, because Minnesota has been adding jobs for 7 complete years.
"We hit the bottom in September of 2009," he said.
Since that point, Hine said 278,000 jobs have been added in the state.
