Hockey Camp Trainer Accused Of Filming Girl, 14, In Shower

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A hockey camp athletic trainer is accused of filming a 14-year-old girl as she showered at an ice arena up north.

According to documents filed in Crow Wing County, 32-year-old James William Diffley, of Maple Grove, was charged last week with interfering with a minor's privacy, a felony.

A criminal complaint says the crime happened last Monday at the Breezy Point Ice Arena, which was hosting an all-girl hockey camp. A 15-year-old witness told police she saw Diffley, a camp athletic trainer, in the locker room reaching around a wall with his phone as a 14-year-old girl showered.

The witness said she confronted Diffley, who promptly put his phone away and left the building. Surveillance video caught him leaving.

The complaint says authorities found Diffley at a nearby resort, where he admitting to filming the girl as she showered.

If convicted, Diffley could face two years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
