Protesters Take To Downtown Minneapolis After Jacob Blake Shooting; 11 Arrested Outside Detention Center
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesotans showed their solidarity with Wisconsin Monday after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.
People first gathered at the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis before marching to the Minneapolis Police First Precinct building.

Some of the protesters burned an American flag towards the end of the march. A smaller group stayed downtown for a few hours. Police say five people, one woman and four men, were arrested for crimes related to "civil unrest." One arrest was for damaging property, but police didn't specify about the other four.
Later, 11 people were arrested outside the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center in downtown Minneapolis. The county sheriff's office says they are being held on probable cause riot, damage to property and unlawful assembly.
At one point overnight, there were about 100 people gathered outside the detention center, where the people arrested earlier in the night were being held. The demonstrators broke windows at the detention center and threatened to breach security.
During the arrest of the 11 demonstrators, one police officer suffered a broken hand, the sheriff's office says.
"We fully support peaceful protests, but we can not - and will not - allow demonstrators to destroy property or jeopardize the safety and security of our inmates, our deputies and our jail," Sheriff Dave Hutchinson said, in a statement.
Meanwhile in Wisconsin, two of the officers involved in Blake's shooting Sunday night are on administrative leave and protests turns violent for a second night in Kenosha. The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating the shooting.
