Hearing Scheduled For Experts Chosen To Evaluate Prince's Estate

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A hearing scheduled Tuesday in the ongoing court proceedings over Prince's estate will involve the entertainment experts chosen to determine the value of his estate.

Bremer Trust wants to hire these entertainment experts to evaluate the estate's worth, including the Paisley Park property and items in Prince's famous music vault.

Prince died in April from an accidental overdose of painkillers.

He left behind an estate potentially worth hundreds of millions of dollars, which Bremer Trust is managing.

In a hearing Monday, a Carver county judge approved an aggressive timeline for DNA testing for people claiming to be an heir.

It gives existing claimants until Friday to file sworn statements detailing their claims to have a genetic relationship to Prince.

The claimants included a Colorado prison inmate who says Prince was his father.
