Prep Teams Hit Target Center For Timberwolves Shootout
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you're looking for some of the best high school basketball in Minnesota and the Midwest, you'll want to be at the Target Center on Saturday.
For the 18th straight year, the Minnesota Timberwolves are hosting the Timberwolves Shootout Saturday in Minneapolis. The event has featured as many as 26 players who have gone onto play in the NBA, including Kevin Love with the Timberwolves.
Saturday's schedule is loaded with some of the top teams in Minnesota and the Midwest. Action gets started at 9:15 a.m. at Target Center as Lakeville North, led by Xavier signee J.P. Macura, faces Grand Rapids, led by post player Alex Illikainen.
The second game features Cretin-Derham Hall against Bettendorf of Iowa at 11 a.m.
At 12:45 p.m., DeLaSalle faces St. Rita of Illinois. The Islanders are led by post player and Stanford signee Reid Travis, who has been sidelined with a foot injury. They are also led by guard Jarvis Johnson.
The last game of the day puts Apple Valley against Blue Valley Northwest of Kansas. Apple Valley is led by Duke signee Tyus Jones, the No. 1 point guard in the country for the 2014 class.
