Police: Woman Arrested After Firing Gun Multiple Times At Home

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in western Minnesota say a 46-year-old woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly pulled out a gun in front of her husband and fired it multiple times in their home.

Officers arrested Angie Mae Rustand of Alexandria, Minn., Monday evening for domestic assault and reckless discharge of a firearm, the Douglas County Sheriff's office says.

The arrest came after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call that afternoon on 700 Janes Circle Drive. There, deputies learned that the husband fled the house after Rustand brandished a firearm and fired it multiple times inside the house.

Authorities then set up a perimeter around the area. Negotiations led to Rustand leaving the house and giving herself up to police custody.

The incident remains under investigation.

Alexandria is 130 miles northwest of Minneapolis.
