Police Warning Chanhassen Residents After Rash Of Burglaries

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities in Chanhassen are warning residents to be alert after a series of home burglaries in the area over the last month.

The Chanhassen Police Department says that since Sept. 15, there have been at least five residential burglaries reported in the city. Authorities say in three recent cases, burglars entered the home by force through the front door or window. Police determined that the incidents happened during the daytime hours.

Authorities say the items stolen during the burglaries included jewelry, electronics, money and sporting equipment.

Chanhassen police say it serves as a good reminder to always keep your valuables in an unlikely place, keep your vehicle locked and remove valuables and use heavy-duty deadbolt locks on your exterior doors.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call the Carver County Sheriff's Office at (952) 361-1231.
