Police Trying To ID South St. Paul Bank Robbery Suspect

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - South St. Paul police are looking for help tracking down a bank robbery suspect who escaped Thursday after hitting the Wakota Federal Credit Union on Southview Boulevard.

A customer of the bank tried to track the man, but lost him after a few blocks.

Police said the man implied he had a gun during the robbery, though no weapon was seen.

He is described as a man in his 20s with dark blonde or reddish facial hair, about 5-foot-7, wearing light-colored shorts with blue socks pulled up to the knees and a grey hooded sweatshirt below a Boston Red Sox baseball cap.

The South St. Paul Police Department and the FBI are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information related to the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the South St. Paul Police Department at 651-554-3300.  A reward is being offered for information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
