Police Seek Leads In NE Minneapolis Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for killing a Northeast Minneapolis man last weekend.

The shooting happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday, and investigators believe it was a case of a robbery gone wrong.

Thirty-six-year-old Eulalio Gonzalez-Sanchez was shot several times on the 2200 block of 7th Street.

Neighbors told WCCO that Gonzalez-Sanchez had just gotten off the bus from his girlfriend's house and was walking home.

They say he was well-liked in the neighborhood and worked two jobs.

Jessica DeWolf says the shooting happened just outside her bedroom window, and called the event surreal.

"His body was laying there, and the two guys -- I think they lived in that apartment -- they came out when they heard the gunshots, but they couldn't help him," she said.

Police said they are working a number of leads, but haven't arrested anyone yet. If you know anything that could help, please contact them at 612-692-8477.
