Police Search For Suspect In New Brighton Car Chase

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police are searching for the suspect from a car chase that led police from Minneapolis to New Brighton Thursday night.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, just before 10 p.m. an officer attempted to stop a vehicle in Minneapolis as the driver was reportedly acting suspicious.

When the officer turned on its emergency lights, the driver sped off.

Police followed the car to Spring Street and Silver Lake Road in New Brighton.

According to police, the suspect then pulled over and fled from them on foot.

Police searched the car and found a loaded gun and bulletproof vest.

Officers said they searched the area for hours for the suspect but could not locate the person.

According to police, they are using the loaded gun and bulletproof vest to try and track that person down.

The Minneapolis Police Department is currently investigating this incident. Anyone with any information regarding the suspect, or incident, is asked to call Minneapolis police.
