Police: 'Person Of Interest' Identified In Fatal Winona Shooting
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Winona Police Department has identified a person of interest in connection to the fatal shooting that took place over the weekend.
According to police, just after 1 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call of a shooting at an apartment building in the 1200 block of Gilmore Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found a 31-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He was later identified as Adam Tylor Fort of Winona. Medical personnel provided care at the scene, but Fort was pronounced dead.
According to the police department, witnesses told officers that two suspects had entered the apartment and started to demand money. During the altercation, Fort was shot.
On Thursday, police say 23-year-old Lonnie Lavonte Keymone Hudson is a person of interest. Hudson, who has not yet been located, is described as 5-foot-10, 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police say Hudson may be in the company of Tayesha Williams and two children, ages 1 and 3. He's considered armed and dangerous, so police advise that if anyone sees him they not approach him, but call law enforcement.
