Missing Mayo Clinic Worker Leigh Meska Found Safe

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota mother who went missing on her way to work at the Mayo Clinic in Wednesday's dangerous cold has been found safe Thursday night.

Leigh Elizabeth Meska, 31, was last seen by her fiancé leaving her Goodview residence, but she never made it to work and could not be contacted.

Goodview Police Chief Kent Russell says Meska called her parents from Rockford, Illinois Thursday evening. Police in Rockford then made contact with her and verified her safety. Her parents then headed down to meet up with her.

At this time, police do not believe there was anything criminal involved in the case.

Russell says police are grateful she's safe and appreciate the media's help getting the word out.

Goodview police held a press conference with her parents Thursday, and showed surveillance video of Meska in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Meska has an 11-year-old son.
