Police: Man Found Dead During Warrant Pick-Up In Brooklyn Park

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) -- A suspect is dead after shots were fired at police during a warrant pick-up in Brooklyn Park early Monday night, authorities say.

The Brooklyn Park Police Department responded at about 6:15 p.m. to the 9200 block of Bass Creek Court on a warrant pick-up. As officers entered the home to take a suspect into custody, a gunshot was fired.

Officers retreated from the residence and the Brooklyn Park SWAT team was called to the scene. During a search of the home, police found the suspect dead inside the residence of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police remain at the scene, but say there is no threat to the public and they are not seeking other suspects. The incident remains under investigation.
