Police Investigating Child's Death In Bemidji

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in northern Minnesota are investigating after a child died Thursday morning in Bemidji.

Police, Bemidji Ambulance and the Bemidji Fire Department responded to a medical call at about 9:57 a.m. on the 2700 block of Birchmont Drive NE. When they arrived, CPR was started on a 4-year-old child.

Authorities said the child was taken to Sanford Health of Bemidji, where the child was pronounced dead. At this time, the child's death appears to be accidental, but the incident is under investigation by Bemidji Police with assistance from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

The name of the child has not been released.
