Police: Impaired Driver Arrested After Moorhead Crash Sends 2 To Hospital

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 34-year-old Fargo man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence after being involved in a crash in Moorhead that sent two people to a hospital, according to police.

Authorities responded at about 9:07 p.m. to an injury accident at the intersection of 5th Ave. S. and 11th St. S. Based on witness accounts from the scene, Andrew Barrett of Fargo was arrested.

An 18-year-old woman driving the other vehicle and her son were transported to Sanford Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Barrett is being evaluated at Sanford and will be booked on charges of criminal vehicular operation resulting in substantial bodily injury, second-degree DUI-under the influence of a narcotic, reckless driving, speeding and failing to stop for a stop sign.

The crash remains under investigation.
