Police: Holocaust Heirloom Stolen In Madison
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Madison police say a Star of David pendant that survived the Holocaust has been stolen from a University of Wisconsin fraternity house.
Police said Thursday they're seeking information on a burglar who they say entered two rooms at the fraternity house where people were sleeping Wednesday night and took electronics and money. The "person of interest" was caught on surveillance footage.
Police say a 20-year-old student reported his priceless family heirloom had also been taken. They say the pendant has the Hebrew letter Shin in the center and is attached to a gold necklace.
Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says the pendant's value goes "beyond dollars and cents." Police asking anyone with information about the burglary to come forward.
