Police: Driver Hit 2 Students In Crosswalk Near Moorhead School

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in Moorhead say charges are being sought against a driver who struck two teenage boys Wednesday afternoon in a crosswalk outside a high school.

The Moorhead Police Department says 49-year-old Vilma Ortiz Martinez, of Fargo, hit two 15-year-old students in a crosswalk just west of Moorhead High School.

Emergency crews brought the boys to a hospital to be evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say charges of gross misdemeanor failure to yield in a crosswalk and no motor vehicle insurance are being sought against Martinez through the Clay County Attorney's Office.
