Man Arrested After Leading Police On Chase Through North Metro
LAKE ELMO, Minn. (WCCO) -- One man is behind bars after leading law enforcement on a chase in the middle of Wednesday's morning rush hour.
The pursuit began in St. Paul around 7:30 a.m., snarling traffic and taking over some lanes for drivers. St. Paul police say officers initially tried to stop the suspect vehicle, a van, for having no plates.
The van fled onto northbound Interstate-35E and eastbound Highway 36. With multiple rounds of stop sticks and PIT maneuvers, police were finally able to stop the van near Demontrevelle Trail in Lake Elmo.
St. Paul police officers arrested the suspect and described him as an older man. Officials say he was not compliant during the arrest.
The van the man was driving was towed.
No one was hurt in the pursuit.
