Man Arrested After Leading Police On Chase Through North Metro

LAKE ELMO, Minn. (WCCO) -- One man is behind bars after leading law enforcement on a chase in the middle of Wednesday's morning rush hour.

The pursuit began in St. Paul around 7:30 a.m., snarling traffic and taking over some lanes for drivers. St. Paul police say officers initially tried to stop the suspect vehicle, a van, for having no plates.

The van fled onto northbound Interstate-35E and eastbound Highway 36. With multiple rounds of stop sticks and PIT maneuvers, police were finally able to stop the van near Demontrevelle Trail in Lake Elmo.
