Victims In Chaska Double Shooting Expected To Survive
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police have arrested the man they believe shot two people in a Chaska home late Thursday night.
According to the Chaska Police Department, around 10:30 p.m. officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 3600 block of County Road 140.
Upon arrival, officers found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Twelve Medical Center in Chaska and later transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center. Each was listed in critical condition, but are expected to survive.
The suspected gunman, identified as 39-year-old Joshua Lee Gilpin of Jordan, was apprehended at a home in Jordan after 11 a.m. Friday. He was in the backyard at the time of the arrest. A SWAT team was on the scene.

On Friday afternoon, Chaska police identified the victims as 60-year-old Robert Raymond Gilpin, the suspect's father, and 29-year-old Heidi Sue Robling, his ex-girlfriend.
Police say that Robling was living with her parents and her 4-year-old son at the Chaska home. On Thursday, Joshua Gilpin was returning the boy to Robling after a visitation, and Robert Gilpin was accompanying them.
Police say Joshua Gilpin shot his father multiple times, and Robling in the neck. Robling's parents were home and called police. Police said he fled on foot.
Robling's dad, Steve, said he feared for his daughter's safety, and there was ongoing tension between the two. Steve said he thinks Gilpin shot his dad for interfering.
While Joshua Gilpin was at large Friday morning, officers asked people in the area to stay inside and lock their doors. As a precautionary measure, all schools in Eastern Carver County were locked down.
