Pistachio Recall Over Salmonella Risk
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Check your cupboard, there's a recall on pistachios.
The company Wonderful Pistachios announced the voluntary recall, saying a number of flavors and sizes of the nuts are at risk of salmonella contamination.
So far, 11 people have been infected in nine states, including Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Health said the resident affected was a man who didn't require hospitalization and has since recovered.
Several products, from brands such as Trader Joe's and Paramount Farms, are part of the recall, and affected bags can be identified by a 13 digit code on the back of the package.
