Peterson Working Way Back From Groin Surgery
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Adrian Peterson is still working his way back from offseason groin surgery. He says he is eager to rejoin his Minnesota Vikings teammates for the team's offseason program once his body is ready.
Peterson spoke on a conference call on Wednesday. Peterson played in 14 games last season and rushed for 1,266 yards and 10 touchdowns. But he injured his groin in November and Peterson says that contributed to a foot injury that slowed him toward the end of the season.
The Vikings opened their offseason conditioning program under new coach Mike Zimmer on Monday. Peterson has not been present because he is still rehabbing in Texas.
Peterson says he "can't sit here and say I'm back right now. But I'm not far off at all."
