Authorities ID Suspect Vehicle In Deadly Hit-&-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the suspect vehicle involved in a Brooklyn Park hit-and-run that killed a 61-year-old man Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday night at about 6:52 p.m., the pedestrian was struck near Highway 252 on the border of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. The man -- identified Wednesday as Meshu Lamu of Brooklyn Park -- was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, the Minnesota State Patrol says they are looking for a 2004 Suzuki Vitara (similar to the picture below) with gray fender flares and damage to its left side.

The state patrol believes it is one of two vehicles that may have stuck Lamu and left before law enforcement could arrive. The second vehicle does not yet have a description.

Anyone with information is asked to call 763-279-4559.
