Paddleboat Tours To Feature St. Croix Bridge Work

STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) — Visitors will soon be able to get a close-up look at construction of the new St. Croix Crossing linking Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Paddleboat tours of the project are scheduled to begin May 31.

St. Croix Crossing project director Jon Chiglo says there are no places on shore for the public to safely view construction. So the boat tours will give people a chance to see the work up close.

Project staff will be on board to answer questions.

Saturday tours will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and Wednesday tours from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tours are tentatively scheduled through Sept. 27.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 4 to 12. The new river crossing will open to traffic by fall 2016.
