Overnight Fire Damages Plymouth Apartment

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An overnight fire heavily damaged an apartment in Plymouth.

Firefighters were called just after 1 a.m. Wednesday about a balcony on fire at Parker's Lake Apartments, located on the 15300 block of 18th Avenue North.

By the time crews got there, the flames had spread to the attic.

Firefighters were worried that after it had reached the attic that it would spread quickly. It was a four-alarm fire.

One unit on the backside of the building was destroyed and two other units have damage.

No one was hurt and the Red Cross is helping people who can't return home.

The state fire marshal will help investigate the cause.
